Volvo 60's Corporate Sailing Experiences and Match Racing

The Volvo 60 sailing yacht is a Farr Yacht Design. She is a pure offshore racing machine and compete in the Volvo Ocean Race, designed to Volvo Ocean 60 rule she is a strong, reliable offshore yacht built to survive the Southern Ocean. Although primarily a race boat the Volvo 60 has a large open deck making the perfect entertainment platform for corporate hospitality who require a dynamic activity to invigorate and develop personnel.

With speeds approaching 35 knots, the Volvo actually exceeds most motor yachts, this offers a real idea of the impressive power of wind and sail. Have a go at the helm of the Volvo 60 if you dare!

Match Race 3 Volvo 60's!

This kevlar composite Volvo yacht provides the opportunity to sample the thrills of the ocean that have been illustrated recently by the likes of Eleanor McArthur and Rob Golding. She is superbly equipped for racing with electronic wizardry second to none, and a carbon/kevlar sail wardrobe to die for. The Volvo 60 is oozing with carbon fibre spars, masts etc. to keep that weight ratio down to an absolute minimum. Her twin wheel system allows the skipper to get the ultimate performance, at all times.

Safety is paramount on this yacht - she complies with the RORC guidelines for a race yacht of this calibre, and carries all the latest safety equipment.

This Volvo 60 yacht needs to be sailed with a minimum crew of 18. Your corporate crew will therefore not exceed 12 with the fixed experienced crew of 6 unless you can demonstrate and have had previous experience of sailing a large yacht. This offers the capacity of 36 participants over three matched raced yachts.

Volvo Sailing Sample itinerary

• 0830hrs Arrive at a Solent based marina.


• 0900hrs Guests will be greeted by a representative and introduced to your Skippers.


• 0930hrs Stow kit on board yachts. Safety brief and yacht familiarisation. Depart for morning sail in the Solent.


• 1230hrs Anchor off Isle of Wight shore for a champagne buffet lunch on board the yachts, (additional cost apply).


• 1400hrs Fun racing begins - Skippers will helm over the start line - then it can be over to you! Crews can put to the test their newly acquired skills.


• 1630hrs Moor up at Port Solent and hand over yachts.


• 1700hrs Afternoon tea and cakes in the Yacht Club (with prize-giving reception if required).


• 1730hrs Depart at leisure

• Waterproof and life jacket hire


• All catering to include:


• Coffee and biscuits on arrival
