Royal Birkdale Open Championship 2008
In 2008 Royal Birkdale Golf Club will host play to the 137th Open Golf Championship. We proud to bring the corporate hospitality and entertainment for Royal Birkdale. It will be the ninth Championship to be played over the Lancashire course, where Arnold Palmer's victory in 1961 marked the virtual re-birth of golf's oldest championship. Mark OMeara was the last Open Champion at Royal Birkdale in 1998. This challenging links golf course has been voted the No 1 course in Britain and has held two Ryder Cups, the Walker Cup and the Curtis Cup; however Birkdale is the only course in Open rotation that has never had a champion from the United Kingdom.
